Snake Safety Family Show

Southside Church's Children's Ministry partnered with Rev. Stuart Jones and Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg to offer a Snake Safety Family Show this past spring!

We had 40+ attendees from Southside, Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg, Habitat for Humanity of Greenville, and the larger Spartanburg area. These families learned how to identify various snakes, make their yard a less desirable habitat for snakes, and respond appropriately if they spot a snake. Rev. Jones showed off many live snakes, including a large copperhead couple! After his presentation, children and parents had the opportunity to touch and hold some of the non-venomous snakes that he had brought with him.

Afterwards, everyone enjoyed some Krispy Kreme donuts, kindly donated by a couple who'd had their wedding reception in our church café right before the Snake Safety program! Shoutout to those amazing folks for that spontaneous act of giving!

At Southside Baptist Church, we are proud to be a place where individuals and families from all walks of life can come together to learn, grow, and fellowship with each other in the name of Christ.
