Maine Mission Trip Report

Since 2014, the North American Mission Board (NAMB) has made a concerted effort to plant churches in midcoast and downeast Maine. Mission teams from around the U.S. have been invited each summer to work with church planters in various stages of development. The goal is for mission teams to not only help with the church plants, but also take home a deeper understanding of biblical missiology and evangelism.

From July 15 to July 21, twelve members of Southside Church went on mission to Boothbay, Maine. They served at Anchor Church, which is led by Pastor Roger Ferrell and his wife Caroline. Their mission included light construction, community building activities, and strategic evangelism. Daily classroom, field training, and worship services were also provided. The mission team reported a very positive experience and has asked our church body to seek additional ways to support this church plant moving forward.
