What are your small group options?

Southside Baptist Church is committed to helping every person reach his or her spiritual goals through small group discipleship. Whether you are looking for answers to specific questions or just desiring to grow in your faith, we encourage you to invest time in one of our small groups. With groups for preschool, children, adults, senior adults, women, and men, we are certain to have a small group for you.

Stop by the Welcome Center on Sunday morning or call the church office during office hours to learn more about getting connected to a Sunday School class or Bible study group!

What do you offer for children?

Southside has great ministries for all age groups. Preschoolers find love, care, safety, and special attention when they attend any of our services.

Children (grades 1-6) are offered many activities at Southside ranging from Children’s Choir to mission opportunities to small group Bible study. Special events like Bible School, Summer Camp, Centershot Archery, and retreats are held throughout the year. From time to time, we feature our Children’s Choir during Sunday Worship. This time shows how important they are in the life of our church.

Youth (grades 7-12) are also very important to us at Southside. Youth have small group Bible study, Sunday evening worship, their own Praise Team and band, trips, retreats, and much more.

No matter what a child’s age, a special place awaits them at Southside Baptist Church!

I don't know much about the Bible. Will I feel uncomfortable?

Our prayer is that you will be warmly greeted and helped along in your journey to know God’s Word in such a way that is encouraging, loving, and life changing. We understand that you are taking a step out of your comfort zone to come to a Worship Service or small group Bible study. We make a conscious effort to welcome folks without putting them in the spotlight. That’s why we will do everything possible to help you understand what we are doing and why we do it. Our membership class, Connecting to Southside, is a great opportunity to get to know our church and mission without any obligation to become a member.

What does Southside believe about baptism?

We believe that those who have committed their lives to Jesus Christ need to follow His command and example in baptism. “Believer’s Baptism” refers to what takes place when a person who is old enough to make a conscious commitment to Christ does so and is baptized. We also observe immersion – under the water – in accordance with Biblical teaching.

How can someone join Southside Baptist Church?

The steps to become a member include committing your life to Christ (Romans 10:9-10), being baptized by immersion, and completing the Connecting to Southside membership class which is offered once per quarter. You can indicate your desire to become a member by speaking with one of our pastors (or sending a text or email to them) or by contacting our church office at (864) 582-2341.

You may also transfer your letter from another Baptist church.
