Operation Christmas Child (OCC) is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse that we seek to support every single year. This year, in addition to contributing shoeboxes and volunteers, we also decided to serve as the host church for the 2018 OCC Kick-Off Celebration. We provided greeters, and several members of our congregation attended the very special event in our sanctuary.
Alex, a shoebox recipient from Rwanda, shared his testimony as a survivor of genocide in that country. He spoke of how God delivered him to safety, transformed his life, and ultimately gave him the grace to forgive his attackers. His story is one moving example of how Jesus works in the lives of those who know Him. Alex now works with OCC to support children in his home country, even in the very orphanage where he grew up.
